Tree & Shrub Fertilizing Guide
Trees that grow wild in their native habitats have the advantage of the natural recycling process of nutrients being added back into the soil by fallen leaves, as well as a variety of decaying plant matter that enriches the soil every year. These nutrients “fertilize” the trees which keeps them healthy and vigorous. To enhance our properties we create artificial habitats by adding nursery trees and landscape plantings to our property. By planting them in turf areas which may have nutrient deficient soil and cleaning our yards of fallen leaves, the natural recycling process of nutrients may be altered. These environments and the trees in them may require the application of fertilizer to help encourage healthy growth of your trees which in turn will help keep them pest and disease resistant.
How Tree Fertilizer is Applied
Tree Tech uses a Liquid Soil Injection method to apply tree fertilizer. The fertilizer is injected by the technician into the ground at specific points and depth around your tree using a “needle” drawing the fertilizer from the tank on the truck. This method is clean, efficient and helps to aerate the soil and leads to rapid uptake of nutrients into the tree.We use an organic fertilizer on trees and shrubs, which incorporates Mycorizae organisms into the soil. These are fungal organisms that adhere to the roots of plants and aid in the absorption of water and nutrients. It improves the soil condition which makes it more hospitable for roots and therefore improving the health of the plant. It is safe and effective and can be used at any time of the year.
